The question is where do I even begin?
Well any good plan starts with research. So after hours and hours of scrolling through a multitude of different websites, my fears were confirmed. This is going to take every ounce of my patience, strength, courage and a hell of a lot of saving to get me started.
I knew I needed to be trained to be able to start my business. So the search began again, scrolling through the various different sites all offering different training at different costs. My main concern was that I would save up hundreds of pounds, complete a course and still not have the adequate training required. You would think in that in this day and age your local college would have the perfect course. Unfortunately thats not 100% true.
Depending on the area of the UK you are in depends on the courses that are avaliable to you. My local college offer only full time courses, spanning on average around 20 weeks. That for me is not possible and at around £5000, not affordable either.
So there are two options, a home learning course or a week long 1-2-1 course. But where too train? How much will it cost? Will I need to travel far? Will the course be supported by insurance agencies? Is the course accredited? Who will be the examining board?
All these questions and frankly very little answers.
It took weeks of searching every single day for courses, eventually I found two different courses, close to home and both under £1500. Both courses are supported by the Guild of Beauticians, both are accredited....Seems too good too be true.
Well I emailed both academies, both answered all my questions. However when I asked both academies, what kit do you provide? And what products do you use? One academy shone through, though I can not disclose names.
It seems like my journey will begin! Just to gather the funds.
